Agreement to these terms
By using this website or the client portal operated by Marshay's Tax Preparation Services (the Firm, we, us), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or portal.
What this site is
This website describes our tax-preparation services and lets you request an appointment, start an engagement, and (once you’re a client) access a private portal to upload documents, message us, sign agreements, and manage billing. Actual tax preparation services are governed by a separate Tax Preparation Engagement Agreement and Payment Authorization you sign once you engage us — these Terms of Use cover the website and portal themselves, not the scope of tax services, which those documents describe.
Who can use this site
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to create a portal account or engage our services.
Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your portal login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. We require two-factor authentication on client portal accounts to help keep them secure.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Provide false or fraudulent information through the intake form, booking form, or portal.
- Attempt to access another client’s account, documents, or information.
- Upload malicious files or attempt to interfere with the site or portal’s normal operation.
- Use the site or portal for any unlawful purpose.
Fees and payment
Fees for tax preparation services are set out in your signed engagement and are collected per the terms of the Payment Authorization you separately sign — these Terms of Use don’t themselves create a payment obligation.
Not legal, financial, or investment advice
Content on this site (including articles and resources) is general information, not individualized tax, legal, or financial advice. Advice specific to your situation is only provided within the scope of a signed engagement.
Intellectual property
The content, design, and branding of this site belong to Marshay's Tax Preparation Services and may not be copied or reused without permission.
No warranty; limitation of liability
This site and portal are provided “as is.” We work to keep them accurate, secure, and available, but don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, Marshay's Tax Preparation Services is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or portal. Liability related to tax preparation services themselves is addressed in your signed engagement agreement.
Ending your account
You may ask us to deactivate your portal account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the site or portal if these terms are violated.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let current clients know directly.
